ps - "Download and run Hard Disk Sentinel (trial) (includes SSDs)"
This is downloaded okay and runs but the results don't get displayed... or if they do not on the visible window... are the results stored anywhere in a 'Sentinel' Folder?
Should be a straightforward window on your screen.

Check if it's still running via task manager. The only time I've known of it quitting was a totally messed up badly faulty disk.
So far no attempt to read SMART params above has succeeded- which is in itself quite worrying. I believe I left another idea..but you really should make a determination of the state of your disk.

Try a REALLY simple program - no installation ...
Download Macrorit Disk Scanner Portable 4.3.0

This should create a simple sector map.

However, even if that passes, could be other types of problems.

    - how many drives actually are there in the PC?
    - really need a SMART analysis for each.

    Download Portable HD Tune 2.55

I assume you're scanning the system drive presently.

Personally, I would get a SSD for the machine. Get up to 4 gigs better yet 8 gigs of memory. You will see a night and day improvment.

I only use and sell SSD's to my clients and all they say is WOW my computer is better than new.

Good, that's one disk. Now try the portable HD Tune to check the rest...

Health tab for each of your n disks, where n is unknown

Please don't ask me to take that continuous list of text about disks apart for you.

Here are mine: (two ways to do it):

Please stay on track to verify the health of your HDD’s.
Are you able to shut down the computer by now w/o have to use the ON/Off button?

I agree with Porthos thoughts on memory in post #57.

Although more RAM doesn’t technically speed up the PC, it allows for more efficiency & multitasking.

According to the manual you posted, there should be 4 slots available for “matching memory connections”.
Microsoft minimum RAM requirement for Windows 10 64-bit is 2GB
Windows 10 System Requirements Specifications | Microsoft
--- In my experience I recommend a minimum of 4GB RAM for 64-bit real world usage. Theoretically that would decrease your RAM % usage from the 81-83% area down to about 62% with everything else being equal.
--- I’ve seen posts indicating the users Win10 runs just fine on 2 or 3GB and I know it’s possible but the computer you are working on needs more flexibility. But running Win10 64-bit on only 2GB-3GB RAM is equivalent on running on fumes in the real world once the computer runs with everything the user wants to use it for.
--- If you increase the amount of memory from 3GB to 6GB, that’s a theoretical improvement to about 42%.
--- If you increase the amount of memory from 3GB to 8GB, that’s a theoretical improvement to about 31%.
--- My theoretical usages are just that: theoretical. But let’s say you decide to go with 8GB and instead of only 31% usage, it actually comes out to 40%: that’s still quite a bit of improvement from your 81%-83% usage.
--- I know it will cost a few dollars but I believe it’s worth considering that information.

The reason your computer is running so slow could be because you don't have enough usable memory for your computer and other programs to run well because you have so many other programs using it all up. I also owned a computer with 3GB ram, I have experienced the same problems you are experiencing now.

What I did to fix my problem was to uninstall programs I didn't use anymore, such as uninstalling BitDefender and replacing it with Windows Defender or Google Chrome with MS Edge. I also added a custom amount of virtual memory and changed the systems visual effects from letting windows choose what's best for this computer to best performance. Also changing the power settings from Balanced to High Performance helped a lot (your computer will become a lot hotter when running on High Performance). Lastly, I used Wise Disk Cleaner (use with caution, Wise Disk Cleaner can cause problems with Windows or even destroy your Windows installation completely if not used right) to clean out unnecessary files and did a full optimization and defrag of my hard drive, but you can also use the inbuilt Windows programs (which is a lot safer than using Wise Disk Cleaner, but not as effective): Storage Sense or Disk Cleanup to clean unnecessary files and Defragmenter to defrag your hard drive.

    "Start button won't shutdown
CTL -ALT-DEL where shutdown blue screen and spinning which doesn't seem to shutdown after 30 mins or so... only way to shutdown is via on/off button on base unit."
Running Tweaking.com's Windows Repair Tool could maybe help.
