    CCleaner

I have 2 accounts, Local User and Local Administrator. When I run CCleaner I perform the first run as local user, the second run as Administrator. It amazes me how much junk CCleaner finds in the Admin account which I only log IN occasionally for PC maintenance.
The Admin junk files are mostly IE and Edge. How can this be if I never use either browser, or seldom log IN to my Admin account.

You are basically just wasting time on this sort of trivia. Deleting certain files just results in them re-appearing almost instantly.
Such applications rely on this to give the impression they are doing something useful.

They cannot market things with " it slows your Web Browser up whilst caches are regenerated." They use weasel words saying pretty much the opposite.

Once you think about what each particular part of Ccleaner actually does then you will find the vast majority is useless trivia..

Running CCleaner from an admin account does cleanup more stuff and also gives you the option to delete selected restore points which I find useful.

That's one feature I would never use.

Every time you move something or delete something, the registry will have double listings of the same thing.

CCleaner just removes the double listings in the registry, I`ve been using CCleaner for over 10 years, never had a problem.

Go ahead, just scan for issues in the registry with CCleaner, see what shows up. You don`t have to fix them if you don`t want to.

Me too - I just use it on demand to remove junk / temp files and delete unneeded restore points

I uninstall programs using Revo uninstaller so there's nothing left in the registry after it cleaned up all that's left after particular program's uninstall. Moving files and other stuff doesn't have anything to do with registry and leaves no traces.
This way CC doesn't find anything but few entries left over from internet Server side applications. That ends up with about 6 entries. CC is very gentle on registry and removes only entries that are not connected to anything and those have no bearing on it's and systestem's work.
If I ever need to do anything in registry I do it manually and would let no3rd party programs shmuck around it.

    To each his own

But if you are using Revo, your are still using a 3rd party software.

Like I said just Scan for issues in the registry with CCleaner, see what shows up.

It's well known that having several "leftovers" in registry doesn't impact system performance anymore. You can live with it. MS advises against using registry cleaners although I must admit CC one is very mildly and usually works fine without generating issues (making backup copies of registry entries is advised though).
