Whenever you are uninstalling something, you are also cleaning registry, the only problem is, that some uninstallers are not very effective, so they leave a lot of stuff behind. Pure registry cleaner simply fixes that. When you are using a dedicated uninstaller, like Revo, you are also using registry cleaning.

Yes but Revo addresses only entries relevant to particular program and is specially effective when a program is installed thru Revo. Doesn't stick it's nose in other parts of registry.
Revo also has tools similar to CC that are also quite effective.

I'm amazed at how FEW registry "problems" CCleaner finds in Windows10, vs Windows 7. I used to have 40 to 50 issues after a Windows 7 update. Now, with Windows 10, it never flags a single issue after a Win10 update.

Does this mean that Windows 10 is written/coded better than Windows 7 was?

But, it takes CCleaner 45 seconds to clean out Edge cookies. Even though there are not that many... yesterday's run only found 67 cookies, but still took 45 seconds on that cleaning task. Weird.

Better "coded" yes but that's just part of it, "Dirt" and "Problems" in registry is mostly leftovers from programs and APPs, drivers etc. CC doesn't really deal with system stuff.

You are basically just wasting time on this sort of trivia. Deleting certain files just results in them re-appearing almost instantly.
Such applications rely on this to give the impression they are doing something useful.

They cannot market things with " it slows your Web Browser up whilst caches are regenerated." They use weasel words saying pretty much the opposite.

Once you think about what each particular part of Ccleaner actually does then you will find the vast majority is useless trivia..
OMG not even remotely true. i know for a fact from checking various folders(including 3 internet cache folders that i added to custom files/folds to clean), the behavior of my browsers after running ccleaner that is is cleaning and no the items are not being replaced shortly after running cc.

I only use it to cleanup the registry.
personally i uncheck the registry items, the only thing i allow to touch the registry is my 3rd party uninstaller looking for leftovers from a program uninstall.

I uninstall programs using Revo uninstaller so there's nothing left in the registry after it cleaned up all that's left after particular program's uninstall. Moving files and other stuff doesn't have anything to do with registry and leaves no traces.
This way CC doesn't find anything but few entries left over from internet Server side applications. That ends up with about 6 entries. CC is very gentle on registry and removes only entries that are not connected to anything and those have no bearing on it's and systestem's work.
If I ever need to do anything in registry I do it manually and would let no3rd party programs shmuck around it.
    DITTO across the board

HUGE difference. registry cleaner looks for anything it thinks is bad, yes you normally get to scroll through and puck and choose which keys to remove, now with programs like revo they invoke the programs uninstaller, when that uninstall is don revo surgically goes through the registry and only list items for that program.
