Another Disk Cleanup not clearing 'Temorary Files' issue post
I have read many posts about Disk Cleanup not clearing Temporary Files and tried the various suggestions how to fix it.
My problem is that Disk Cleanup shows that I currently have 70mb of temporary files which is getting larger every time I run Cleanup. It adds 0.1 to the size every time I run it. Yet, I just cannot see where it is getting that figure from. I first noticed it getting larger when it was around 40mb in size. And since it was showing 65mb I have been actively trying to resolve the issue.
I can only assume that every time I run Disk Cleanup it is saving a record somewhere and including that in the total.
Both C\Windows\Temp and %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Temp are empty. (Yes, have show hidden and system files turned on).
I changed the registry to clear files to 1 day from 7 days.
I use CCleaner but it doesn't see any temporary files
I've used HDCleaner, but says '0' zero files to clean
I've run advanced Disk Cleanup from command line from within Windows and in safe mode.
Can't see anything in WizTree
I use the clear windows log files script available on this site to clear all log files.
I appreciate that some of you may feel 70mb in the theme of things isn't very big, but it is getting bigger by the day.
I succeeded in curing the massive 'Temporary Internet File' issue always showing in Disk Cleanup and would really love to solve this issue.
There is no 'View Files' button under the Temporary Files option so I cannot see where these files are stored. The text says about "Apps can store temporary information in specific folders and these can be deleted manually". But where is Disk Cleanup seeing these files?
