    Hi,

Currently running it on a Wintogo USB stick.

    Will report back.

    Cheers,

EDIT: Same thing on the Wintogo drive. Rebooted and now it runs fine. Will repeat this on the regular internal drive install as well.

    Hi,

On the regular install the problem persists even after rebooting and rerunning the test several times.
Problem is, no errors are reported anywhere, the program just runs and that the end of that....

Any ideas out there on how to fix this ?

    TIA,

    Good morning @fdegrove

Have you tried the link to Shawn's tutorial, in the first post?
Performance monitor and System Diagnostics need to be running.
3rd party software, such as an overzealous Anti Virus/Malware, or UXtheme patchers, or programs that supposedly turns off "Microsoft Spying" & data collection, can cause, both of these and their services, to stop working.

    Hi,
@Cliff S, thanks for chipping in.

I suspect it has to do with MS data collection but I have no clue what exactly I'd need to change.
As said, the program runs but doesn't create a report.

For info, I've not installed anything that would alter the system in a way you suggested.

    Hi Cliff
There was no way to start <perfmon /report>and other thinks yesterday.
Resetting my PC as Windows 10. Installed a few applications like: Google, CCleaner, Windows Defender.
Start run from Run <perfmon /report>. First time was working.
After restart PC, can not start it again does not matter how long I keep it in.
Do not have any idea what to do next
    Regards

    Hi,

For further info, I reran the test on the Wintogo drive again yesterday, no cigar.
What annoys me is that there's no error report generated as far as I can tell.

    Cheers,
The only thing I can think of is trying it the long way, from Performance Monitor: System Health Report - Generate and View in Windows 8.1

    Hi,

Unfortunately that yields the exact same result as running perfmon /report.

    1. Check in Services if "Performance Logs & Alerts" Startup Type: Manual >>>Status is stopped(until perfmon is run).
    2. Also "RPC Endpoint Mapper" should be set to Startup Type: Automatic>>>Status: Running.
    3. An lastly see if "DCOM Server Process Launcher" is set to Startup Type Automatic>>>Status: Running.

    Hi,

All services are set as described.
However, running perfmon /report does not trigger the "Performance Logs & Alerts" service to change its status from stopped to running.

The odd thing is though, when I start it manually it still doesn't make any difference....
    Strange....
