Computer randomly running slow for no apparent reason

Hi all, so last night i got home and wanted to use my laptop to play league of legends, but then i saw that it was running extremely slow and lagging, almost impossible to navigate the client, anyway im no computer wiz and im struggling to find the answer, i have this screenshot that shows that my computer is opening multiple instances of the same program, so possibly thats the reason? any help is appreciated, thanks in advanceComputer randomly running slow for no apparent reason-capture.png

    Hi, welcome to tenforums.

Chrome- presumably you have 9 tabs open..

The other two I have no experince of.

What happens if you restart your PC, then look at your task manager? Do you still see multiple instances of programs starting? Is your PC responsive then before launching games, Spotify etc?

Sometimes if a program hangs and doesn't exit properly, and instance of it can be left in RAM, and can only be closed via the task manager. A restart should eliminate such instances, of course.

It looks like something else is using CPU time and accessing your disk as well. have a look further down the list or organise the columns by clicking on the column header.

Note: some experience issues with Defender resource use in build 1803.

If you've done a factory reset and still find your PC unresponsive, the only thing left is the hardware itself.

its not unressponsive but it has slowed down a little bit and opens alot of instances of programs, i dont think that is hardware related.

opens alot of instances of programs,
    a. if you did a factory reset, then what you should have seen was the behaviour exactly as when you bought it.
Sometimes factory configurations launch trial programs.

If you see something else, then you need to look for an explanation. Did it really do a factory reset?

If you wish to examine all startups, try Autoruns (free from MS - easy to find).

    b. if you do a clean install, nothing should appear but your desktop.
