I have a new Lenovo laptop with only a few programs installed. Suddenly it is 20GB hard drive space missing. I have checked all folders, including hidden.I have deleted previous restoring points and reduced the space allocated for that. I can`t find where the 20GB has gone. Any advice? Thanks.
Hi, just hazarding a guess- have you just had a major Windows build upgrade - a 'feature update'?
This creates a folder 'Windows.old' about the size of your Windows folder. That is retained, by default for 10 days.
You can use a program such as Treesize or Windirstat (free) to see pictorially how your disk space is used.

if you are using windows 7 the sxs folder (inside windows) is likely the problem. it will be a good idea to see how much space it takes.
if you are using windows 10 then "Dalchina" advice is probebly the answer.
you can clean old installation files by using "disk cleanup".
(right click on c>properties>press on "disk cleanup> choose "clean system files" and ok)
