    I agree.

    Hi there

Agree with those who say just simply use the boot media for backup / restore system images -- the advantage of that is also that you can avoid albeit very rare times you get V.S.S problems (when system tries to lock the "C" drive against changes when doing backups from within windows) . Also much better IMO to do system backups when system isn't being used -- YMMV of course -- any method of taking regular backups is better than none by far.

The only time I use the Macrium version within windows is either to create bootable media after Macrium update or to browse images with file explorer.

I got from work the Pro "Technicians USB" which is really brilliant -- but you can only get that if your workplace has a corporate / enterprise licence. Otherwise the Free version works absolutely OK for I suspect 99% of users out there.

Obviously overkill for Home users but if your workplace gives it to you --why not !!!

Can't do scheduled backups that way though. With Macrium this is painless. I do my boot drive (SSD) every Friday at 8PM. It's setup as a differential backup set, one full then maintain 3 differentials. Merges the oldest differential into the full. DItto for my D: drive which is where my other important data resides.

The incrementals take 5 minutes on average.
    Hi,
Yeah it does have draw backs but frankly 12 minutes for a full backup is small tomatoes
Scheduling myself to do something is actually pretty easy

I did an AOMEI backup as suggested.

The Acronis Cleaner didn't seem to find anything, but I rebooted anyway.
