How to reduce the size of windows 10 on my c drive

    Hi,
I have a tablet/pc which has limited C drive capacity. It has an eMMC 32 on board memory. All my programs and apps are install on the 240 SSD drive D. When I open settings / system / storage I get the following information. C: system size 15.6GB (I am running windows 10 and office 365) Apps and games 7.49GB. I have installed all programs and where possible Apps on D drive. When I access the Apps and Games storage and add all the storage reflected I get about 900 MB of storage used. I can not find the 7.9 GB as reflected.

I have used windows disk cleanup and system cleanup and the size does not get any smaller.

If there is no easy solution is there any software that I can download that can solve my problem.

You can use file compression like eLPuSHeR states, and check this out as well:

Brink has a tutorial on that too. The /ResetBase option gains the most space in my experience.

Also, make sure you have deleted all system restore points.

Delete System Restore Points in Windows 10

And while on the subject of restore points, these are stored in the hidden and heavily protected 'System Volume Information' folder. It's not unknown for things other than restore points to end up being stored there, maybe because a crash interrupted what should have been a temporary use of that folder. There is no easy way to delete these. Check with TreeSize Free run as administrator to see what else may be lurking there...

....how to delete them? Well, booting from something (anything) else usually works. Try a Linux Live boot usb or the Command Prompt from a Windows install or recovery drive usb.

...I once had to remove an AppxStaging folder from my System Volume Information folder that was using about 9GB.
How do I delete files on system volume information?
