I just upgraded my SSD based laptop to 1803. It boots to the login screen as quickly as before but now takes 20 secs for a user to login whereas it only used to take under 5 secs.
I can't find anything obvious in Autoruns causing this. Any ideas / solutions or what I should check?
Hi, try searching the forum for e.g.
slow boot 1803
and you will find a number of other similar reports. Have a look through these and look for things that may help you and ways to diagnose this including using the Windows Performance Recorder.

I uninstalled Malwarebytes (MB) which had a recent update and all is now fine. I don't see why that slowed the PC since MB was in offline mode ( i use Defender as my AV).
I'm tryng to use the Windows performance Recorder to diagnose another PC but it's hard to evaluate the output. Is there a tool or online site to assist with the diagnosis of the .etl file?

Have you taken this boot trace using xperf command line ? I can't see the Boot phases graph!
Take a boot trace using WPR GUI with these options:
According to the boot trace. it takes 19s to the logon screen !
But it seems that the session init phase took more time for this configuration! and it seems that it's caused by the DVD driver. the OS is trying to start the device for 10s ! and according to the call stack, the OS is trying to read the media capacity!
Is there any DVD inside the driver? remove it and do a test.
Well done! There are two DVD drives on this PC on separate SATA interfaces - a Pioneer DVR-220L & Pioneer DVR-216D. The DVR-216D is causing the boot delay despite having no disk in the tray.According to the boot trace. it takes 19s to the logon screen !
