FWIW, it seems to me the laptop is now much snappier and the lag is gone.
Now I am being greedy.....
The remaining error (after rebooting) is one concerning distributedCOMThe application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160}
and APPID
{9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE SID (S-1-5-19) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
Can I do anything about that?
Hey Curious,
No worries :) I'm glad it help ... BTW, in case you see the folder c:\inetpub in File Explorer it's the folder that IIS used and can be safely deleted now that you've uninstalled IIS or you can just ignore it, as takes up no space to speak of.
You can safely ignore that DCOM Error. With that said it can probably be fixed, but it requires a bit of work.
The DCOM stuff is explained (and references supplied) in a sticky thread I wrote on this subject for this very forum: Why Certain DCOM 10016 Events Don't Matter - Windows 10 Forums.
