Automatically defragment
Does windows 10 automatically defrag your hard drive ?
And also how many do you need to defrag your hard drive per week?

Yes, it does so automatically, at least for HDDs. I believe the default setting is once a week. SSDs get Trimmed, not defrag'd. I don't know what the default are for those.
I manually defrag once in a while. It's useful after applying ntfs compression to a file as that generates a lot of fragmentation. Can't say I've noticed much change in performance though, so defraging is probably not that important. Back in the days of DOS/Win3.1 it made a big difference, much less so now.
SSD are optimized weekly and defragmented monthly by default.
You don't need to change any such settings unless perhaps you run your disk at 95% full. Even then it probably is not required.
Okay case closed. I always find a great answer from this community.. Thank you so much..
Mike,
I'm very sorry, I meant to add a second para. Since the disks are SSDs, the Days since last run entry can be misleading. See the explanation under the heading Scheduled task in defrag - MSDocs.
