Sometimes downloaded files have hidden or special characters in the filename and windows cannot properly access them. Try renaming the files to something much simpler. You may have to boot from a live linux drive to do this.

    Hi there
Try uploading via FTP - check also password is OK and see if you can access other files on your site. Check also that ports for FTP are open on your PC (so you can send outbound files to the server). There's plenty of FTP programs around if you don't want to use the command line --filezilla is easy enough.

If you can access other files on the site then you have a problem with the data you are trying to upload.
The only other issue is if the files contain viruses the server might be checking for those however I'm sure you would have surely down a proper scan before uploading to any sort of server.

    Hi there.

can't see why that would be a problem to upload the stuff even if copyright -- I don't think most hosting servers have either the capacity or time to check every single file for "copyrighted" material -- and in any case it's not easy to determine whether or not the uploader actually has the rights to the file(s) anyway,

Bootlegged files can mean anything from a copy of an internal CIA file to basic movies / tv series.

If these files can be handled on a local PC without any Vifruses in them then they should be perfectly uploadable. Whether that gets you into legal troubles is another issue -- but that's not a technical problem.

    Cheers

I think the fact that the OP said it was from a bootlegged disk tells it all.
