    disc cleanup

1803 cumulative updates take so long to be cleaned up with disc cleanup.
I do so b/c I want to have a clean image in case I have to recover.
Is there a faster way to clean up these updates?

Do you have the OS on a SSD which would be faster?

The process is understandably slow even on SSD.

Ya it`s no big deal, you start the process then turn all your attention to the World Cup game that`s currently playing

I have a hardware raid 0 setup and Disk Cleanup takes a while cleaning up Windows Updates.... just a Microsoft thing.

Try to run this as admin: Windows Cleanup It performs a manual cleanup before running disk cleanup.

This line removes all system restore points and file backups, remove it, if you do not want that.
    Code:
    vssadmin delete shadows /for=c: /all /quiet

Disk cleanup runs component cleanup, which takes the most time.

It seems this is a duplicate topic/thread.
