    If needed you can download a pdf ifilter:

    Please do post back to advise progress- if solved, it's helpful to mark the thread Solved using the button at the top of the thread.

    Setting most pdf readers as the default does not apply an ifilter.
    When properly configured, you should see this:
    Windows indexing service -- 100s of copies of process suspended-1.jpg

    Otherwise it is indexed as txt.

    For those who want to fix broken filters like this, the article below provides the basic principles and the specific keys to make it all work in the registry.

    Note that the CLSIDs need to all be at the root level, it's not good enough that they are at the WOW64 node level (where, for some reason, the root ones are replicated)
