Here is a shot of Firefox.
Again only using 3 tabs, it has seven processes. Using over 50% CPU.

Late builds of Firefox in 1803 can show such an incompatibility/problem. Some have found using an older build resolves that.

Anyone else seeing massive CPU spikes with FF 60? : firefox

Well what should I do then? If Chrome uses too much CPU to really use it, Firefox just doesn't go with Windows, Edge is a none starter... What next??

If you read the article, and noted my comment, it was about using an OLDER version of FF to avoid high CPU usage. You may wish to do some research on specific builds of FF and current comments on it.

(As you can see from my specs, I still use 1709 by choice to this and other problems).

My usual browser is Waterfox - a FF fork that still supports 'legacy' add-ons. Then there's Cyberfox....

Would you happen to know what Firefox was up to at the time you took the screen shot 54.2% is high, was it updating?
I'm currently running Firefox Quantum 61.0.2 64 bit with 3 tabs open as I write this post.

I would try reinstalling Firefox from scratch, your FF profile may have a glitch or two. See link "How Do I reinstall Firefox"

    Good Luck!

I'm using the latest stable build in FireFox(61.0.2). Generally, you should not have that kind of problem with simple browsing tasks.

My laptop's also AMD (Check in my specs).

It's slower than any other web browser I've tried.
It just doesn't load, (nothing to do with internet connection since other browsers do work). Takes much too much resources.
It just doesn't move when you click anything. E.g. If I try to change tabs it shows in the tab at the top that it has changed but the url and page don't change for about 1 minute.
I don't see that but I do dislike the fact that when I create a new tab, Edge doesn't change to it and there is no setting to make it do so (or set the page it opens to as I mentioned).

    Thanks for responding.
