W-10 logs off to black screen with 1 min of no activity

    W-10 Pro logs off to black screen after 1 min of inactivity


    Recently, about time of last update, my W-10 Pro on a Dell xps8920 desktop began logging me out to black screen after approx 60 sec of inactivity - continuously. I can tap L mouse & return to password entry screen. I've tried resetting power options to default, changed advanced power setting & different power settings in control panel -power options. Nothing helps. For 6-8 months, I've had similar problem with a HP Pavilion Laptop with W-10 pro (updated from W-7), but I set it on sleep-hypernate NEVER & it follows the plan. Appreciate ideas - I'm empty.

    Hey Tetons,
    Check the screen saver settings ... Settings > Personalization > Lock Screen

    Note: I think the default is Screen Saver > None (ie. black screen) and Wait > 1 min.

    Thanks Eagle51. After I unchecked On Resume, display logon the 1 minute box went gray and the other Power settings to work fine now. Originally, I only attempted to change the log-on background image; something went wrong. This was the 1st time I tried using the settings. It seems that the Lock screen is perhaps a special security screen that's available to use. It appears to be quite similar to the regular sleep mode except perhaps a little faster.
