Very slow boot-up time (over three minutes)

My windows 10 Pro, 64bit (SSD 240G) was working fine, until recently (a month or two ago), when booting became extremely slow: during system boot-up it gets about two minutes stuck in the black (Lenovo) screen (with some white dots moving around I think).

I've tried to fix the problem working out some solution I've read concerning the registry, but another problem came about: searching the registry gets stuck as well! (It takes more than a minute, and so I simply stopped the search).

Please some advice. I didn't find any new help online about this problem (only things from 2015/16).

    Thanks,
    - Gary

Searching registry can take longer than minute,it's not really a test of disk speed. Did you run disk and system checks, drivers etc.

    How do I do this?

    Hi,

Can you take a boot trace so that we can see what the OS is doing during the different boot phases:

    1. Open a command line as an Administrator (Run As Administrator)
    2. Type the following command in the command line Windows: cd %programfiles(x86)%\Windows Kits\10\Windows Performance Toolkit
    3. Type the following command to start recording the boot trace: wpr -start GeneralProfile -start CPU -onoffscenario Boot -onoffresultspath c:\wpr -numiterations 1
    4. Compress the .ETL file generated under the C:\WPR path (very important)
    5. Upload the boot trace file on Dropbox or on https://www.transfernow.net/en/

I'llanalyze your trace file and give you a feedback.

    See you…

    Thanks Zinou,

    But when I run
wpr -start GeneralProfile -start CPU -onoffscenario Boot -onoffresultspath c:\wpr -numiterations 1

    I get the error:

The Logging Mode does not match with the profile passed.

Make sure you are running the command under "%programfiles(x86)%\Windows Kits\10\Windows Performance Toolkit" path.

If it doesn't work try recording the trace using the graphical version of the tool. Here is the steps:

    1. Download and Install windows Performance Toolkit https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...ed/adk-install . Choose the package corresponding to your Windows version.
    2. When running the setup select only Windows Performance Toolkit.
    3. Record a trace using Windows Performance Recorder using these options:https://justpaste.it/1g4sx
    4. Compress the resulting file.

    Ignore the above reply.

I did ran it in the correct folder. But it didn't work.

I now did what you suggested. But the record file is 6 GB !! It's compression is thus infeasible.

    Any other suggestion?
