See this post: Runtime broker "eats" a lot of CPU in Windows 10. After installation of the KB's, computer runs as quickly as Win 8.1.

Well, I guess I need to a clean install. I am not happy w/the speed of my PC. It's a decent machine AMD A6, 8gb memory and Samsung 840 SSD but it's too laggy w/W10. W7 was quick.

I am not having problems with runtime broker. Do you still think the kbs would help?

I read some guys posted to format and do a clean install with win 10.
Havent tried though so I cant confirm that.
I can't compare the upgrade with a clean install because having done the upgrade, I immediately did a clean install. But I'm experiencing instances where Windows 10 is REALLY SLOW. Typing this would take ages with a lag of many seconds before the text on the screen would catch up with what I was typing!!

It doesn't do it all the time & a reboot restores speed to normal. But what is causing this is a mystery!!

If you did a clean install, don't you have to do updates?

Had you checked out your CPU activity and memory utilization in Task Manager/Performance when you are having this issue?

I did a clean install as well and barely have any programs running , Win 10 definitely lags and doesn't seem as snappy as 7 . It has a ton more privacy issues and i think a lot more background activity going on than 7.

I'll stay with it to see if any improvement but we will see.

If you have specific programs that run slowly, try running compatibility check in the compatibility tab of that program's properties. Some programs may run better under Win 7 or 8.1 compatibility. Was the case with me.
