Here's a .pdf file that would be handy to have, thanks go to rhiannon and techsupportalert.com:

This is on the technical side of things, but if you're a Windows command line user, Microsoft has released a PDF file listing over 250 Windows Command References. All commands are listed alphabetically and include a detailed description of the command, command line arguments, and for some commands, which version of Windows the command applies to.

As noted it's a 4.6MB D/L that runs 948 pages because of the detail for each command. Commands are for windows 8.1, 10, and windows Server 2008 on up.

Sorry to rain on your parade but the document does not apply to Windows 10. The download page says so [but the document itself says otherwise].

Just see the list of Shutdown switches and compare them to the list produced by Shutdown /?
or note the absence of any information on the Windows 10 version of Netsh.

It is hardly any more up-to-date than the Windows 7 Command line reference.

also win 10 is a work in progress (i doubt that MS has a complete list on release date of any product) to many lines of code

Try3; That's okay I have no parade to rain on, but thanks for pointing that out. A prudent user will note at the beginning of the second paragraph in rhiannon's article:

Not all commands work for every version of Windows

Anyone can search for Windows Command References that may or may not work, and if you need specificity for a particular Windows CMD just add your version of Windows and or PowerShell to the search parameter.

The point is not that "Not all commands work for every version of Windows". The point is that the entire document contains Windows 10 information on only three commands - defrag, format, fsutil.

As the download page states, this document is intended for Windows Server admins.

I am not having a go at you. I am having a go at inappropriate descriptions of this document's applicability.

If a user wants to have potentially-out-of-date information then they would be better off downloading the Windows 7 Command line reference. so they could reach that potentially-out-of-date information much quicker and benefit from its superior presentation.
