Removing Windows.old in Spring Update

Is the same procedure still in place, you know, the one that really doesn't work by trying to remove the Windows.old in the latest Spring Update? I was hoping Microsoft had put a fix to this.
I was surprised to see this Windows.old only has 5 gigs in it and what remains on the disk seems to be taking more space on a permanent basis, like close to 10 gigs more. Does this sound normal or more like the paranormal?

Disk cleanup works just fine.

I cleaned up windows.old via Settings yesterday. It took about a minute with no left overs. When I got my W10, it came with 1607, this is the third time I get rid of windows.old via Settings. The process has worked out flawlessly every time. Settings showed the amount to be cleane about 26GB but in the end, it worked out to be about 17GB (free space gaining about half a gig compared to what it was before the upgrade).

Thanks for the replies, people! I've still got my Windows.old directory from last Fall. The Disk Cleanup cleaned up the files but could not remove the Directory. I've tried doing different methods from within the Command Prompt and I've enjoyed great grief thereafter, such as the Computer not rebooting.
I would like to use the %SystemRoot%\System32\Cmd.exe /c Cleanmgr /sageset:65535 & Cleanmgr /sagerun:65535 ... but fear it would do something that would cause the sytem not to reboot again as in past years.
Last Fall, someone said the Windows.old would disappear after 10 days but after 30 days, everything was still there, including the files. I used the Disk Cleanup and as said, it seemingly cleaned out the files but not the Directory.
I posted what I did for I thought there might be something new that Microsoft created to stop the grief of systems not rebooting after manually removing this Directory (Windows.old).

Just to let ya's know, I used the Disk Cleanup and cleared away the Files in the Windows.old with no problem. But the Directory still remains. Not sure if this has something to do with the Windows.old Directory from last Fall that I could not get rid of but there's only one directory by that name and not two, so for some weird and wonderful reason, it's not letting go of that Directory.
I attempted to remove it again last Fall and when I did, the computer would not reboot, so I'm leaving well enough alone. It shows (and did back in the Fall also) 0 contents but when I went to remove it back in the Fall AND last year in the Spring, I got the same delightful results ... a computer not rebooting. So there's something in there that Windows is hanging onto and when it's deleted, Windows gets very upset and passes that grief on to me.

Thanks for the info maybe i hosed my older hp due to this and did not realize it (i just bought a new comp) vise working it through. its in the closet just might try to bring it back to life

Interesting. I'm finding I'm not alone regarding this problem.
