    PBD file?

I am in the process of cleaning up my main drive and have discovered 197 GB of backup files with the extension .pbf

They are located in My Backups but I use Acronis for backups so I don't think it is their files. Before settling on Acronis I tried EaseUs but did not like it. Is it related to that software?

Can I safely delete these files and recover the space?

When did you last look at them? Last week? Last year? 5 years ago?

Right click > Properties > Details will tell you when they were created/modified.

If they have been stuck there for years then just delete them. You could make a backup in case you remember what they are for but you probably will not ever remember if you don't now.

I have backup disks marked with post-it notes saying "December 2008 backup" I'm too scared to delete because I don't remember what it is.

Will I ever look at them? No.

Soooo, is it PBD as in title or PBF as in first post? PBD is likely EaseUs Todo Backup. Here's a "for instance" reference: https://www.easeus.com/support/todo-...mage-tool.html

Paragon software backup files. Latest paragon hdm 16 use a new format .pvhd.

Paragon hdm/backup and recovery 15 and earlier can work with .pbf.
