That will certainly fix the issue.
    Thank you.
I updated the windows 10 to Build 16299.371 and it shuts off much faster than before however Restart still takes a lot of time. Pretty much happy with the performance as well. Lets see how Windows 10 April update performs.

    New update new issue

    Hi,

After updating the windows to the latest update i.e. April update the windows now takes a lot of time to boot. Even after entering the password it takes a long time. I've updated the drivers as well from Dell support website.

I've uploaded the Windows Performance Recorder files, could someone please guide why it takes a long time to boot.

    Hi,

    1. Open a command line as an Administrator (Run As Administrator)
    2. Type the following command in the command line Windows: cd %programfiles(x86)%\Windows Kits\10\Windows Performance Toolkit
    3. Type the following command to start recording the boot trace: wpr -start GeneralProfile -start CPU -onoffscenario Boot -onoffresultspath c:\wpr -numiterations 1 -filemode
    4. Compress the .ETL file generated under the C:\WPR path (very important)
    5. Upload the boot trace file on Dropbox or on https://www.transfernow.net/en/

Here is my analysis of the boot trace:

I've identified two problems causing the slowness of your system startup:

In the session init phase where the system initialize and load drivers. The culprit driver is butldsk.sys. it's not a signed driver and is probably a malware. scan your system and remove this driver https://greatis.com/blog/how-to/remove-butldsk-sys.htm

The second problem comes from your Intel graphic card driver (version 23.20.16.5018). There is a newer version https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...?product=80939

Thanks a lot Zinou. You have been a great help.

Boot-up time has certainly gone down and now I feel it is justified for a 5400 RPM drive.

    I've a question for you:

How to keep track on latest drivers? Dell support website is very lazy as the graphic driver on their website is of 2017 so does most of the drivers. Any application from where I can track and download? I used Driverpacksolution but I found that even that shows old drivers.

I recommend you use Autroruns to see what start-up programs, tasks, services and drivers are loading on your PC. Disable / uninstall stuff you don't need and be suspicious of any odd entries.
