    Event ID 10005 for tiledatamodelsvc at shutdown

    For the past few days I've been getting Event ID 10005 multiple times whenever I shut down my computer. Everything still runs just fine and this error seems superficial, but I would prefer to keep my event log clean as possible.

    DCOM got error "1115" attempting to start the service tiledatamodelsvc with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server:
    {B31118B2-1F49-48E5-B6F5-BC21CAEC56FB}

    However, I only get this error when shutting down and only once per day. For instance, I won't get it if I just shut down and restart immediately after, I only get it when I'm done with the computer for the day and go to sleep. So every 14 hours or so.

    I know that tiledatamodelsvc is used for the start menu so I don't want to disable it. /sfc scannow comes back clean.

    Somebody else reported a similar issue on the Support forum (except it only happens at boot, not at shut down). Did some research on the state of DCOM errors and learned 2 things:
    1. There is a fix involving various registry hacks
    2. The DCOM errors are not serious enough, in most cases, to be worth the time and effort involved in fixing them.
    Check out this thread for more details: Windows 10 Event ID 10010 and 10016 Errors With DistributedCOM. You are, of course, free to do as you choose about this.
