VMI Provider Host High CPU usage problem

Hello. Since last week ive been having a problem with the process “VMI provider host” to consume about 7-10% of my CPU.
Its mildly infuriating because Ive attempted just about anything of solutions from the internet.

    Ive attempted these solutions:
Ive checked for viruses using AVG, none found.
Ive updated to the latest drivers for Windows, as well as using Driver Booster to update all the rest, didnt resolve.
Ive tried to restart the VMI process both in task manager and Services. Has no effect.

Ive attempted to localize the actual process by using the event viewer and the process seems to be diskmonitor.exe, and if i terminate this process the CPU usage diminishes again.

However as i can tell diskmonitor is important for the system and id have to terminate the process everytime i log on to my computer. But i really dont know how to proceed further with this. Any help?

Apart from restarting diskmonitor.exe process, maybe you need to restart the service Windows Management Instrumentation.
    1. In the Run box, type in services.msc and click OK to go to Services window.
    2. Find out Windows Management Instrumentation and right click to Restart it.
After that, maybe your problem will have been fixed.
