Windows 10 freezes with Malwarebytes Premium 3.4.4

Is anyone aware of any issues caused by Malwarebytes 3.4.4 with Windows 10?

Since upgrading to MB 3.4.4 upon booting up or waking up from hibernating, my Windows 10 PC often freezes. Often a hard reboot is required to resolve matters, after which everything seems alright.

I know my description is vague because I have nothing more specific to go on at the moment. I have not found anything specific in the Windows logs to support this.

It is just that MB 3.4.4 is the last update made to my PC other than Chrome 65. This latter software I believe to be alright.

I have tested for hardware errors with HD Sentinel and nothing has been found.

    Thanks

    Mr Morgan.

    I'm having the same issues.
I also have Malwarebytes 3.4.4 with W10. My laptop sometimes freezes shortly after booting.
Normally, I immediately open Google Chrome (also v65, 64 bit) after booting. But since a couple of days my laptop freezes sometimes. A hard reboot is required. After a hard reboot, the laptop appears to function properly.

    Things I've already done
    - a complete scan (also for rootkits) with Malwarebytes: no problems
    - a scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit: no issues
    - an sfc /scannow in elevated command prompt: no issues
    - an scheduled chkdsk /f C: on booting: no issues
    - I've found some issues in Event Viewer. I don't know if they have anything to do with our problem.
I used this tutorial to repair them:

    Hope this helps,

I have not run these tests myself but will do so. I also use Classic Start Menu as an alternative to Windows 10's default Start menu, and Winaero's Tweaker to customise Windows File Manager. But neither of these has caused a problem to date.

I do wonder if this problem might be MB 3.4.4 insisting upon scanning my PC when it boots. I must see if I can override this behaviour as well.

    Thanks

    Mr Morgan.

It has maybe something to do with this: MWB 3.4.4 freezes computer - Malwarebytes 3 - Malwarebytes Forums

    Things I've changed since:
    - Malwarebytes: disabled web protection
    - Malwarebyets: delayed real-time protection

I believe this is related to the Ransomware protection of Malwarebytes. There are a bunch of threads over there about this type of slowdown. They are working towards a release this month to fix it. It is in testing now. Temporarily disabling the Ransomware protection should solve the issue, you can turn it right back on afterwards.

I had been using the free version for quite sometime and got a notification from MB that there was an update. I did so, rebooted, and then discovered that the entire program had been removed from my PC. Weird. I downloaded the free trial version of 3.4.4 yesterday and ran into problems. I could not access certain things. I got error notices that said I did not have permission. I also was prohibited from changing folders and files. I kept getting notices that the file was open in another program. I eventually used task manager to shut down explorer.exe and that would work temporarily. But I could only do one change and then it went right back to the error notice that the file was open in another program. I just removed MB and that seems to have solved the issues. I now have full control. There is obviously something going on with MB and I would be afraid to use it again.

Thanks to the respondents here. Personally, I would rather not disable any options in MB 3.4.4 and will await the update, at least for now. The PC freezing is not a certainty: sometime it happens, other times not.

    I currently have:

    MB version 3.4.4.2398
    Component package version 1.0.322
    Update package version 1.0.4524
