WinZip says I need to update my hpet to version 7.0.1.1011. How can I find out whether I really need to do this or is WinZip just trying to sell me something I don't need? (This is a subject waaay over my knowledge level.)
Can you give a screenshot of the error message? I can't imagine why WinZip itself would need to use the HPET.
No, it wasn't for WinZip itself. I was trying to download Macrium Reflect free backup and disk imaging software program when I was taken to the WinZip site that indicated that I needed 7 updates. I have since lost the website but I did make an Open Office text document to which I attached the screen shot.
Ignore it. Winzip Driver Updater is basically junk.
Windows Update is good at finding drivers for recent systems like yours. Especially since you have a laptop, the only 3rd party driver updater you should use is the one from HP.
