Yes, the problems that you are experiencing could be related to malware.
The malware must be fixed first.
It would not be productive to work on the operating system, registry, boot, drive file system etc. until all malware is eradicated.
So that may require a clean install.

    Please see post #67.
    Comment on Malwarebytes.

The temperature problem will need to be further evaluated post eradication of the malware.

Sure. Should I continue the scan with the other programs or not?

Yes unless you can perform a clean install.
If you cannot perform a clean install then run all of the malware scans and start a new thread in the antivirus forum.

What is the status of the files on the computer?
    Are files backed up?
Had a backup image been made?
Are you able to perform a clean install?

Please post images of the malware scans into the thread or use one drive or drop box share links.

Malwarebytes is installed on the computer.
Were all of these unsafe applications not detected by Malwarebytes?
    Was Malwarebytes malfunctioning?
What is the status of Malwarebytes? Was the antivirus installed after, before or during the infections?
Which AV product was used when KMS was installed?
Yes, they weren't. I think it's because Malwarebytes only scanned drive C.

    I don't think so.

Normal, installed and scanned as requested. What antivirus? I'm not using any third party antivirus (I've used Kaspersky before, but it's been about 2 years.), I'm using Windows Defender for a while now.

    Windows Defender.

    Hi Guys

I was having the same problem, and tried pretty much all the 'fixes' recommended in this thread.

My Lenovo ideapad 305 was taking over 7 minutes to boot into Windows. 2 minutes to reach the bootmenu, then a further 5 minutes for Windows Explorer to start ... So i decided to do a Repair Install with an 'in-place upgrade' recommended by Shawn Brink in another thread. This took approx 2 hours to complete, but now my boot time has halved to just under 4 minutes.

I know that its not fast, but its twice as fast as it used to be lol. But it still takes 50 seconds for the boot menu to load, then a further 2 minutes to get to the login screen.

I dont know when this problem first arose as i hardly turn off my laptop, but any further ideas would be appreciated.

    Hi,

    What you can do to troubleshoot that the right way and get answers to your problem is;

-Download and Install windows Performance Toolkit https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...ed/adk-install . Choose the package corresponding to your Windows version.
-Record a trace using Windows Performance Recorder using these options: https://justpaste.it/1g4sx
    -Compress the resulting file
    - Share it through https://www.transfernow.net/en/or any other file sharing platform.

I'llanalyze your trace file and give you a feedback.

    See you…

    Hi,

Disable the GlassWire service and see if it helps.
