Hi Thanks very much for your response!

I followed the steps up to Step 6. I did not need to proceed to 7, 8 or 9 as none of the steps failed.
I would also like to mention that when I attempt to use Windows 10 Update assistant it asks for more disk space 8GB
which is strange as I have reset this laptop, it is empty and there should be 30GB of space.

    Steps 1-5:

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some
of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
    supported in offline servicing scenarios

Hi I just checked the space available on the PC it states 6.81 free of 28.1 but unsure what is taking up all this space as I have no personal files or folders - all have been backed up and removed.

With that little bit of free disk space left, I doubt whether much of any scans will work properly.
In my low life opinion you plain and simple need more free space which means a bigger drive.
I did a Clean Install just a few weeks ago. I have a little bit of nothing on my new install and I use 30.1 GB on a 250 GB ssd.

The scannow reported operating system corruption that it was unable to fix.
    Restorehealth completed successfully.
The logs reported BSOD with bugcheck D1 on 1/20/2018.
The DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bug check has a value of 0x000000D1. This indicates that a kernel-mode driver attempted to access pageable memory at a process IRQL that was too high.
The memory dump file was deleted due to insufficient drive space
(The dump file at location: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP was deleted because the disk volume had less than 25 GB free space)

The logs display multiple AV products:
    Mcafee
    Avast
    Windows defender
    Malwarebytes

Please uninstall all the AV except Windows defender during the troubleshooting process.
After the troubleshooting is completed chose only 1 always on AV product.
If preferred you can choose 1 manual AV product.
Using multiple AV products at the same time can create weaknesses in malware protection and problems in PC performance.

    1) Run the Mcafee uninstall tool:
Antivirus Software, Internet Security, Spyware and Malware Removal | McAfee
    2) Run the applicable Avast uninstall tool:
Avast Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for Avast Removal
Using the Uninstall Utility for Avast Antivirus | Official Avast Support
Uninstalling Avast Antivirus via the Windows Control Panel | Official Avast Support

Hi Layback Bear! Thanks very much for your response!
How can I do a Clean Install? Is this the same as Disk Cleanup? I am trying to get it back to the empty space it was upon purchase. I have no idea what is taking up all this space.

    Hi Zbook

Thanks again for your reply. I have uninstalled both antivirus software. Should I also uninstall malwarebytes?

Edit: I just re-read your post to uninstall all AV except windows defender.

There was a BSOD with bugcheck D1.
There was insufficient free space to produce a mini or memory dump file.
The small size of the Windows drive is likely to make the dump nearly impossible.
Windows is likely to consume 20 - 23 GB on a clean install.
Drivers, Windows updates, browsers, and other software are needed.

The removal of the AV software may fix the BSOD and may improve performance.

If possible the optimal solution is to use a larger drive for Windows so that there is always 25 GB or more free space.

I have removed all AV software except defender.
Sorry I am unsure what bugcheck D1 means. Do dump files help troubleshoot? So does that mean the fact that there is no space to create a dump file is not good?

How do I obtain a larger drive?

Let us know if there are any changes in performance.

If there were no changes in performance the next step is clean boot:

A quick way to see available drives is to use the Crucial scanner:

The Windows build is 1511 or 10586.
Were there attempts to troubleshoot the failed upgrades to 1607, 1703 or 1709?
