Windows 10 100% disk usage in Task Manager

Hi,
i have dell inspiron 15 , 5000 series , OS is windows 10 64 bit.


Recently i had a problem at the laptop:
Disk utilization is quite constant at 100% even though no program runs parallel and there is no traffic between the hard disk and the external device.
I searched in Google for solutions and found this issue quite common in Windows 10. I tried all the options from the solutions offered in the links but without any success :

I also tried to run a disk repair on Windows 10 and even "Reset to default" of the windows which means getting clean operating system - deleting all the files that I had and that did not help either.
Still after booting the computer and during work the disk utilization is 100% fand the computer is very very slow.
Do you have a solution?
Is the hard disk malformed and is this what causes windows to show 100% disk utilization ?

My guess is that this might be a side-effect of the Fall Creator's Update (FCU) being loaded onto your PC.

Microsoft very recently released their FCU to the general public, so PCs that were not seeing it previous, will start seeing it, and downloading it, now.

When I applied this to my PCs, it took over three HOURS for each PC, and it rendered the PC pretty much useless during that timeframe --due to the downloading, prep, and installation efforts required.

In Win10, the only indication you are likely to see regarding this, since Windows Update runs in the background, is a general slowdown of the PC, a lack of responsiveness, and the disk usage being very high while it is downloading the Upgrade files.

To check on this, go into Settings --> Update & Security --> Windows Update and look at the Update Status. If it is downloading the FCU files, you will see an indication there,

If that is happening, there is little you can do about this other than letting it finish, for if you reboot, that might hose up the PC, and if you cancel the Upgrade, it will simply start over again and do it later.

Is your disk SSD or mechanical ?

Have you checked the disk health with tools like DiskSentinel https://www.hdsentinel.com/

Ifyour disk is healthy then that mean it's not a hardware issue but software, andyou need Windows Performance Toolkit to identify the root cause;

• Open a command line as Administrator;
• Type this command "wpr -start generalprofile -start CPU -start DiskIO"; this will start trace recording.
• While recording the trace, try to work on your system for about 2 minutes.
• Then type this command to stop trace recording "wpr -stop C:\Temp\MyTrace.etl". Make sure the folder where you record the trace exist.
• Compress the resulting file (Important)
• Share it through https://www.transfernow.net/en/ or any other file sharing platform.
