Thanks for the links, but the MCT only allows me to download the 1709 ISO file -- and I need the 1703.

The other MS links are versions that are too old.

I have not tried a Repair-Install yet .. but that is certainly worth a try -- thanks.

I am leaving a Clean-Install to last as I went through that in November when the attempted 1709 Upgrade trashed my laptop, and it was two days of hard work reinstalling and reactivating everthing.

Thanks for that info ... I have loaded the page, downloaded the ISO and will try using that one. Will post back with the result.

Thank you for the link -- but that is exactly what I have done, several times.

I will pursue the links that zbook posted to see if I can find a different 1703 ISO file.
Just to be clear you have mounted the Install.wim file and it did not work?

Yes -- and it did not work.

UPDATE -- that worked!! My guess is that there was something wrong with the other ISO file.

Anyway ... thanks for the link. I will save that ISO file now, with the others.

The link was to the Windows ISO DB site -- the one presented by Dalchina.

UPDATE: Today, I manually upgraded to Win10 v1709 using the same method as last time, but this time, the upgrade went off without a hitch.

My guess is that fixing the filesystem corruption was what allowed this to happen.

UPDATE2: I spoke too soon!! Stuff no longer works since the 1709 Upgrade -- and I know this same stuff worked back in November after I did the Clean-Install of 1709. So, I've restored this to 1703 and will start working on a second Clean-Install. But at least now, I have a working 1703 image backup!
