    MP3 file, Windows 10, standard Laptop HDD, no SSD.

    Windows Media Player, 2 sec initial play, then 0.5 sec(ish...).
    Groove Music, 2 sec initial play, then 2 sec.
    Toshiba Media Player, 5 sec initial play, then 1 sec.
    VLC Player(Apps version), 9 sec initial play, then 1 sec.
    IrfanView, 1 sec initial play, then < 0.5 sec(ish...).

    You may have some empty space of 18 sec or something in your music track(s). Or you have been messing with Windows prefetch.

    The things I have disabled are superfetch, windows insider, windows updates ( I manually enable, update everything then disable), telemetry only stuff (Nvidia telemetry, connected user experience and telemetry, dmwappushservice).

    My dell laptop that I use has 500 gigs HDD, 8 gb ram ddr3, 4 cpus clocked at 2.65 ghz, i5, integrated gpu for display is intel hd 5500 and dedicated is geforce 920m. I defragment every week, scan for viruses everyday and ccleaner / disk cleanup every week or so.

    This has never happened to me in 8.1 before, not even a single time. 8.1 for me had been so fast that when I pressed refresh it was as if nothing happened from the speed. Also boot time increased in 10, it was nigh instant prior. I've updated everything from windows updates and as of this moment there are no new updates to be downloaded.

    Hi,

    What you can do to troubleshoot that the right way and get answers to your problem is;

    -Download and Install windows Performance Toolkit https://developer.microsoft.com/en-u...deployment-kit . Choose the package corresponding to your Windows version.

    -Record a trace using Windows Performance Recorder using these options: https://justpaste.it/1dm98

    - While recording the trace, open a song in Windows Media Player. When the file is opened, Then click the save button and give your file a name.

    -Compress the resulting file (Important)

    - Share it through https://www.transfernow.net/en/or any other file sharing platform.

    I'llanalyze your trace file and give you a feedback.

    See you...
