    DistributedCom 10016 permissions event error

This is a repeating error since the 1709 update.
I edited and applied the permission change according to description posted in one of these subforums.
That solved that particular application CLSID and APPID
Another with a slightly different ID number appeared the next days.
It appears that a new one will turn up once there is a permissions repair.
Whatever this is does not affect the smooth performance of the desktop but its a curious event.

    Hi,

Can you post a screenshot of Eventviewer showing the error message ?

This is Dec 13 a.m. repeat series. The events from previous days in Dec. are now not listed in the Event viewer. This event is recorded at start up , repeats itself and then is not active for the rest of the day.

    Hi,

Thanks. It's a very common error that can easily be corrected. It may well return with the next update though.

    Event ID 10016

There are a few more related threads at the bottom of this page should you like to read through them.

These 'errors' can be fixed but nobody apart from MS really understands what further problems may arise from fiddling with the permissions. I recommend leaving these 'errors' alone until MS fixes them.

I've had these errors show up in Event Viewer for as long as I can remember. They don't actually seem to be causing any issues with my system, so I just ignore them at this point.

Same here -- that is, I do just as blackroseMD1 does. I went through the exercise of "fixing" those errors a few upgrades back and decided it was more effort than the results justified. Plus, it comes back with each feature upgrade, so why bother?
