So Shawn,
Are these new boards still requiring that if you use an M.2 drive you loose a pair of SATA ports? I'm guessing so. Good thing the board has 6 SATA ports so you can add other drives.
I believe most boards give 4 PCIe lanes from the Chipset. You can use 1 M.2 drive without losing sata ports. If you use 2 M.2 Drives you will lose 2 sata ports. My board only has 4 sata ports. I am using 2 M.2 drives without a loss of anything, so there are different configurations on some of the boards.
