Yea, the neighbors are saying 'Oh crap, he has company again.'
Shawn I believe that MB you're getting, thanks for pointing it out, has only one usb 2.0 header. If you use if for front ports then you don't have any for certain AIO's or PSU's
I raised the question yesterday and Mike found this device.

Likely what I'll order so I can connect PSU and front ports. You may have no use for it but I thought I would mention.
Thank you Ken.
It shows it having this:
ROG MAXIMUS X CODE | Motherboards | ASUS USA
ASMedia® USB 3.1 Gen 2 controller :
1 x USB 3.1 Gen 2 front panel connector port(s)
ASMedia® USB 3.1 Gen 2 controller :
2 x USB 3.1 Gen 2 port(s) (2 at back panel, black+red, Type-A + USB Type-CTM)
Intel® Z370 Chipset :
6 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 port(s) (4 at back panel, blue, 2 at mid-board)
Intel® Z370 Chipset :
6 x USB 2.0 port(s) (4 at back panel, black, 2 at mid-board)
HI,
Yeah it has to have at least one usb 2 so you can flash your bios with a flash drive which should also be a usb2 device
Isn't that weird :)
Talking about internal headers.
So further on in manual it has this
Attachment 167614
and then looking at board, number 17
Attachment 167615
On the maximus x hero it has two headers.
On the Code you have four USB 2.0 ports on back, the Hero only has two.
Yes. I'm looking at basically the same build hence the question when you first posted a few days back. I did a detailed comparison.
The X Hero Wifi AC unit lacks the looks of the Code but is cheaper. I said there has to be something else. The only thing I could find was config of USB 2.0 headers / ports and heat sinks.
When you get into installing you M.2 I'll be back to ask which port is which. They are stacked on the X Code board but the clarity is also lacking in this area.
You lead and I will follow.
