I saw an excellent test of about 16 thermal pastes. The difference in the top 8 was about 3°C. The difference between the best and worst was maybe 6°C. So where does this 25° drop in temps come from?

It's actually up to 25c but depending on cooling it varies a set up like Mike's ,Doorules will see drops like that us Corsair and other closed loop users maybe 15-20c

    Hi,
Yeah the EK-280 is working well
Compared to my x99 and H110i GT the EK is 10-15c cooler same room temp :)
Still on the original corsair thermal paste it came with though might be time to change it :/

Tommy, I know you said Mike wasn't real smart, but I think he knows better than that.

I was joking with him because he was saying he was still using the original paste from the 110 that is still installed i just made it seem like he did it with the EK block simple twist of words lol

    Hi,
lol the EK paste wasn't pre-applied
It's been over 2 years with the original corsair applied thermal paste
It took a while to get it off the copper block dried tooth paste is pretty accurate I might add with a tough residue :)
Temps are pretty much the same @32c and the EK is hovering around 25c both at stock speeds.
I had the x99 going at x46 as last oc bench showed is why there was such a larger difference.

    Not smart
    When he say that

I never used the paste that come on my corsair coolers and you use Thermal Grizzly time for your corsair to get some too
