I'll just use it in my Lenovo. I don't even know what I would use it in this machine for
All my bases are covered as it is now.

From everything I have seen, an M.2 in sata mode, removes a sata port and there is no speed advantage because you are still running through the sata bus. I have never seen an advantage in running an M.2 in sata mode. There may be advantages on a laptop, but I don't know about that. Just my opinion, which is worth what you paid for it.

Steve, I have said 3 times both M.2's are set to PCIe x4(as opposed to slower x2) and not SATA.

Or was that comment just a generalization and not towards me?

But that with a M:2 SATA SSDs is probably for people the have an old laptop M.2 they want to use, or, it also uses less space in a PC.

Not aimed toward you Cliff, just an observation in general.

Intels latest roadmap shows HEDT Cascade Lake-X coming in Q4 2018 | VideoCardz.com
It’s official, Intel’s new HEDT platform arrives in the fourth quarter of 2018.

    HEDT: Intel Cascade Lake-X

The Skylake-X architecture, Intel’s first HEDT series with 18-core consumer CPUs, will not be succeeded till Q4 2018. No detailed information has been revealed other than codename and launch schedule. The Cascade Lake-X architecture is allegedly based on 14nm+(+) fabrication node. It is considered a refresh of Skylake-X series on a refined node.

    MAINSTREAM: Coffee Lake-S RELOADED

Meanwhile Coffee Lake-S series will receive new SKUs in Q1 2018 (production starts 5th week of 2018) and new 300-series motherboards (production start two weeks later). New SKUs will include dual-core CFL-S CPUs for entry-level segment. Intel expects sales of new SKUs to begin in March/April 2018. These might be Core 9th Gen series.

The roadmap confirms that Intel has no plans to launch Coffee Lake-S successor next year.
