Keep at it @worf105. Sounds like you are doing good with it.
A few more bios updates to control voltage and added stability tweaks then things will be good. The chip runs well at 5ghz with acceptable voltages and temps to carry out many benchmarks but when stability testing pushing the 8700k to the max I am not liking the temp hitting 90 plus. Will keep on tweaking with each update and further the cause with more research. Will not be doing recorded benchmark runs until the system is maxed out and stable.

Okay, I asked because for me having a higher cache usually needs just a little more vcore. I leave cache at default
Cache has it's own voltage but normally matching cache to core will lock your system no matter how much juice you toss at it

The Cache made a huge difference for me because i can't overcome the 4.5 Ghz with this Cpu but none the less it's still Powerful as heck

So did you delid it yourself or go to Silicon lottery i have left them a contact when they have more delided 8700ks available

All i am going to do most likely is replace the 6700k with that just a board and chip swap and i can probably get $400 for my old platform

There is nothing wrong with my 6700k but it is starting to get left behind a little on some things gaming not so much but the 8700k boost pretty sick rates

Something off topic I just found: Hold my beer. (Re-Uploaded to conceal personal/company info) : techsupportgore

    2017 Hardware Thread [2]-wvlcwde4tnsz.png

Context/Details:My buddies and I used to be IT contractors a few years back. (This pic's from 2014, found on my old phone) One day it was kind of slow (not a lot of adobe reader installations or google ultron upgrades) so we got bored and started messing around in the storeroom.

We found a huge stash of air duster, several dozen cans, and, being teens, we naturally did stupid things with them. NO, WE DIDN'T HUFF THEM, we're nerds...instead, we'd freeze stuff by turning the cans upside down and spraying the liquid propellant. We'd solidify small cups of water, give each-other frostbite during the Colder War, things like that.

Eventually I found a pair of bolt cutters in the utility closet (not sure why it was there) and decided to launch a can across the room by cutting the nozzle off. It was cool, but kind of wasteful, as it was slowed down by all the liquid sputtering out....but that gave us an idea.

The next day we brought a small thermos to work, went into the storeroom, and carefully cut the nozzle off an air duster can and quickly forced it into the thermos. After 3 cans or so, the thermos was full, and we essentially had a small vat filled with a substance similar to liquid nitrogen.
    Lightbulb.

I took my T430, put it on its side, opened up HWMonitor and poured the entire thermos into the computer's intake. Needless to say, it was supercooled for a few seconds, even with Prime95 running in the background (minimized, so you'll just have to believe me for that one) HWMonitor only read 0*C, so I'm not sure whether the CPU or the software restricted the temperature reading, because it was clearly a hard limit.

The computer was fine, and works to this day. The airduster almost immediately boiled upon being poured into the computer, and IBM/Lenovo did a pretty good job with their radiators, so the condensation from the cooling was contained in the metal cooling unit, far away from any sensitive electronics.

Feel free to reply if you want any more details about this, eh, experiment of ours.

I was killing time looking to see what I could get/order through my local Media Markt for other system upgrades for when or if I get that MSI Gaming Z270 GAMING M7.
    total 1,236 Euros
I need to see if I can find a PSU with 8+4 though.

One question the recommend PSU is 600W for the Zotac, mine is 650W, is that enough for my 6700K too? Or will I need more power?

    Like this:
Will then need to add another 200 Euros to the above total.

The M7 has 3 M.2 slots, so more speed

    Better cooling

Not because of the processor, GPU takes most power.
