Cliff, the manual will tell you which 2 ports, but the ones I have looked at are usually the last 2. Ports should be numbered on the board.
I already looked Steve thanks, it looks like when BOTH M.2 slots are in PCIe mode, only SATA ports #5 and #6 are disabled.

bordi, check out this fresh video from Gamers Nexus, before deciding on a 8700K.
If you save there, you can maybe get a 1070 or 1070 Ti
    That’s impressive but originally I was thinking about i7-7740X 4.3GHz at £188.99
Then I persuaded myself to go for the 8th generation i7 8700 3.2GHz at £349.99
Then I thought go one step further to i7 8700k 3.7GHz at £398.99
I don’t fancy going back down the ladder now

I’m going to wait until after Christmas anyway, see if the prices come down a bit in the sales
Maybe by then the 1070 will be more affordable

I might have just come across a way of getting the 1070 graphics card and maybe even the cheapest 1080 at the same cost of the build I was going to get

But it might take a genius to answer or advice if it will work and if it would be the better option

I have to go out for a couple of hours, I’ll ask when I come back if that’s ok

    Thanks

Ha! They us an In Win 303(what I have currently) for their example.
Not really that great an air flow case though, that's why I'm looking for a good one to buy next year. But most cases these days are all about the bling, and not the air flow.
Try finding a newer case with the front totally open(no panel blocking the fans) except for a filter, and USB type c in the front i/o.

Bearing in mind the system I had in mind on post 676 which would have cost very close to £1,200

If I was to get one of scan.uks Overclocked Bundle at £800
    https://www.scan.co.uk/products/3xs-...4-be-quiet!-da

    Which consists of:

Processor: Intel Core i7 8700K "Coffee Lake" Six Core with HT overclocked to 4.8GHz
    Motherboard: ASUS PRIME Z370-P
CPU Cooler: be Quiet! Dark Rock 3
    Memory: 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz DDR4

That would leave me £400 to spend on a graphics card

    https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus-...gx-40d-as.html
    https://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-geforce-gtx-1070-dual-oc-8gb-gddr5-vr-ready-graphics-card-1920-core-1582mhz-gpu-1771mhz-boost

The only problem is the memory is only 3000MHz

    Any advice please

So is mine, no big deal
Amount is more important than speed(above the rated by intel DDR4-2666 ) really.
    Slower with tighter timings.
