For me in terms of mobo's it comes down to the bios. Board is only ever going to be as good as the bios allows.

Asus has Shamino writing their bios's. He was with EVGA for a few years back when they has good boards. When he left their bios's went to crap and they were years getting through that.

As long as Shamino is writing bios's for Asus no way I change. He is simply awesome with bios features.
I have to say Asus is rock solid but the MOBO pricing is the reason why i don't go with them anymore

Most of these boards do the same and they should but some of the premiums are not worth it and don't work like they are supposed to either

$180-200 is good enough no board should exceed $250.00 after that number you're just tossing money away

Wonder how @worf105 is doing with his :)
Hi all, The 8700k is doing well. Settled on a low 4800 MHz OC as I am mostly gaming with my system. I can hold my own with nessie in Time Spy with graphics scores of 11K + but my poor 8700K can not get anywhere close to your and solarstarshines CPU scores. Those CPUs are beasts.

I guess I'm tossing money away because my last 3 boards exceeded that mark. And I have no complaints. In fact the last 3 boards hovered at $300, with the most expensive @390 and the least @299.

I tend to look at boards from a features and performance range rather than price. I don't want to get a mid range board to find later I'm limited by a missing feature I skimped on due to price. That's me.

I tossed a bunch of money away with you, and am not sorry I did it. We won't discuss what Tommy said about my Maximus Extreme board. At the time it was probably the most expensive Z77 board on the market.

Yeah I love a solidly built motherboard with lots of features. Another thing to note is number of fan headers. You don't get nearly as many on a mid grade board than you would with mid-high to high end boards. That said, not everyone needs an expensive board so to each his/her own.

    I agree with that

    Hi,
Yep buying an i9-7900x I had to cut corners somewhere so the asus tuf mark 2 was it
It was 220.00 and some change after a 30.00 credit buying the processor at micro center for 899.99

I had planed on getting the x299 prime and 7820x but just changed my mind at the last minute seeing I looked at both the mark 1 and the mark 2 and there isn't a whole lot of difference besides 80.00 worth of plastic armor and I didn't know no metal plate on the back.
Micro center at the time didn't have a mark 1 anyway.

    Hi,
We've misses you benchmarking buddy :)
I'm not sure about beasts mine lakes in some benchmarks for other hardware issues
I'm getting a couple 850 pro 256gb ssd's this week hopefully before this weekend
Possibly performance test 9 will like me a little more with one because now it's just a disgustingly low benchmark

Setup a ramdisk ( asus utility) and run disk test from that drive. You might like the results

    Hi,
Setup as in like this @doorules ?
Or just setup without installing performance test 9 on the ramdisk ?
