Has Intel killed it's own Enthusiast line ?

Wondering what owners and potential X299 buyers think of 8700k putting a beat down on a 7800x and 7820 pretty much

I feel Intel sort of killed it's Enthusiast line why even build X299 when you can do a Z370 ???

Also does anyone think anything beyond a 7900x is useless if you do go X299 ?

    Hi,
Well most of the issues so far has been heavy throttling via heating
I thank turbo boost 3.0 for that mostly and win-10 for keeping on and installing it over and over again after I uninstall it
I think auto driver updating has stopped and I'm starting to beat my other 17-5930k benchmarks but it has been a learning curve no doubt.

Is there a support group for us that delid and void a warranty of a near 1k processor in the first 30 days of owning it lol
@worf105 is a super human you can scale our loses compared to him

It's like man i was expecting you to blow me down all around but it seems it's just a cinebench thing anyway i think you guys deserve to question intel over this it's just stupid and no reason to do all this batshytcrazy to keep up with AMD

It's like how in the hell is the mainstream chip tearing up the Enthusiast Brand is just dumbfounding

I am not talking about GPU benching some other performance test i forget you just have a 1080 but at 4.6 Ghz i was hoping for a slaughter

Are you planing on a Ti ? or waiting for the next line ?

    Hi,
Not sure which benchmarks you're referring to the majority are gpu based tests.
Performance 9.0 that one deducts 60% just because it can't run on it's recommended resolution plus it hates my ssd and cd/ dvd drive not to mention it also hates my ram

Cinebench is the only cpu based bench that i've noticed

A lot of older benchmarks I've dug up nobody plays anymore
Skydiver...... why don't you run them ?

I don't see how any x299 owners would be put off by this comparison. That is only one chip, x299 has many different ways to go in terms of chip, performance, price scaling.

Your issue with 3dmark would indicate some instability in your system. I am not aware of any overriding issues with 3dmark crashing pc's.

    Hi,
All I know is skylake x is the last platform win-7 is fully supported "extended support" without jumping through hoops to update it constantly = "hardware is not supported" messages.
That is ultimately why I bought into it not any other reason beside I think we all got goose bumps when Intel said "i9"

Whether I keep the 7900x or not is still up in the air for at least to the end of the month which is the cutoff date 10-30-2017 I got micro center to extend the 15 day processor return policy to 30 days while I test this EK-280 liquid loop kit since the corsair H115i didn't cut the mustard temp wise.
Whether I ditch the x299 board and the i9-7900x
Or just swap the 7900x for a i7-7820x
Or delid the SOB and see what happens besides just voiding a 2-3 year Intel warranty within 30 days of having it I don't know

I think most people are the same if they bench poorly they don't post the benchmark thus your crashing remark is validated

Lastly you said something about CPU benchmarks but still have not posted any CPU benchmarks to run I still waiting for the benchmarks that are only CPU benchmarks
    Beside Cinebench of course.

    Hi,
    Price wise
You paid 800.us 6950x which is what 3-4 years old which pricing started at 1700.us
    I paid 900.us 7900x less than a year old both are 10 core cpu's.

The only real measurable difference is 1080 verses 1080ti which you win in most benchmarks except a couple and only one you've posted on Cinebench.
Run sky diver tone down your core clock on the 1080ti until you don't crash.
