I don't see how any x299 owners would be put off by this comparison. That is only one chip, x299 has many different ways to go in terms of chip, performance, price scaling.

Your issue with 3dmark would indicate some instability in your system. I am not aware of any overriding issues with 3dmark crashing pc's.
Exactly right. I will most likely be going one way or the other. I haven't decided, but that one chip doesn't sway me much. Your question is like saying did Chevy kill their truck line when they built the Corvette. Well, that depends on what you are going to be using it for. If you haul a lot of lumber all the time, a 160 MPH sports car isn't going to help you much. The only thing the 8700K has going for it is 2 more cores and 5 GHz. Without the 2 cores it is pretty much a 7700K. But, could you use an extra 12 PCIe lanes or is just 16 enough? Maybe you need 44 lanes. They did give the 8700K 4 more lanes from the chipset in case you would like to run an NVME SSD, but if you want to run any more, you have to take away sata ports and USB . It all depends on what you want in life. You have a lot of options which is good. That 2 seater sports car is nice, and boy is it fast. But, if you haul a wife and 4 kids around, it's not much use to you. Better get a mini van. If you haul a lot of cargo you better get a big truck.

Quit listening to all the biased You Tube Reviewers. They are only telling part of the story. Think for yourself.

It's not the reviews actually it's the variety that has come out but those choices in the variety makes no sense

I see what you are saying there is something for everyone but realistically some of these chips aren't necessary

Here is performance 9.0 between us Tommie
Correct me if I'm wrong but the only place you killed me was Disk
I beat you at 3D graphic's and cpu not by much though
    Attachment 159787
Sure isn't this from your system spec's that's killing me
    SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5AM -

This maybe seems pretty cheap price wise

Compare the speeds between the Intel 600p and the Samsung 960 Evo.

Although I find the m.2 crushing

Yeah M.2 kills anyway I'm not comparing our systems out right I know the 7900x is neck and neck with the 6950x just better overclocking

All I'm saying Intel is doing a little too much with all these weird cpu hatchings their doing 7800x shouldn't be eclipsed by a 8700k

It might be hype but it sucks for people who bought in for performance gains
