It sounds like you want the Intel CPU as well. In which case you should. It is better (so I've read) and $140 extra over 5 years isn't much if you can stretch to it.

Otherwise (if you are like me) you'll me mildly upset which isn't worth it for $0.08 a day.

    Get a rubbish case instead.

If you've seen any of my systems, you know wire management isn't an issue with SATA drives, especially SSD's depending on placement. And if you're getting the new Cooler Master case, definitely shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, you'll have cables running off the board, but most of them can easily be hidden, especially with the newer cases.

And I agree with Steve, no need to apologize, get what you want. LOL - I can't believe we're having this conversation. We usually had to beat you down on why we bought what we bought

Haha, well usually it was me wondering why people would upgrade from an i7-7700 to an i7-8700, or from a samsung evo to a pro, or a 1080 to a 1080ti when gains are so small. I am trying to adjust to people who upgrade quarterly instead of me who was trying to reach a decade

I'm going to change the case from the CoolerMaster H500p to something that is......a good case. Also thinking of going with a 1070ti as that will handle what I want go do and save me a few $$. I see that the Core i7-8700k is up to $399 now, so going to wait for supply to come to get that CPU back down to around $359.

I noticed today that the Corsair H115 is avaiable for $79 as a refurbished unit from NewEgg with a 1 year Corsair warranty. I've thought about buying this and just holding on to it until I build.

Have you looked at the Corsair 570X RGB?

Also, EVGA is "supposed" to come out with a new Mid Tower case in a couple of weeks which may be of interest.

You know I love my AIO water coolers and while $79 bucks is a great price for that unit, I paid $119 for mine, I'm not sure I want to be messing with a refurbished unit; especially if you don't know if the unit was repaired for a leak or spotty pump.

    Just something to think about.
