when your PC is way more than you need.

    Hey guys,
I have come to the conclusion that my new Ryzen build is WAY more than I need or will need for awhile. I had just bought a pre-built FX-6300 desktop on the cheap for home use to replace a really ageing Mac Mini. The FX6300 rig had been great, although the benchmarks were horrible the real world usage had been exactly what I needed. I started browsing this subforum and geeking out with some friends and threw a Ryzen build on the credit card and built my dream PC. Now I have really been enjoying this pc and I have had to come to the hard fact that my only real need in a computer currently is 16GB RAM. I could literally do everything I need on my MacBook Air if it had 16GB of RAM......( except gaming) So after almost a month of use I will be selling my Ryzen build and resetting up the FX6300 desktop for my home desktop. My needs are 20 Chrome tabs, Evernote, and music streaming, a few Linux VMs for testing and very light gaming. I'm a simple user and an IT guy and I had to eat a slice of humble pie and realize that I'm not a power user. Maybe I'll buy a Ryzen Gen 3 a couple years down the road.

Same here, I build rigs for fun and I've come to the conclusion I really don't need twin GTX970's to run Euro Truck Simulator 2 or My Summer Car or Minecraft lol

It's always nice to have a few extra horses under the bonnet, and good acceleration.

I agree with both of you. If I don't get any bites in the next couple days I'll try to get rid of the FX and i7 rigs I have laying around. They are kind of the reason I'm feeling guilty, I built an i7 rig and it's never seen a benchmark.....

Don't worry Dude, It only had a H61 chipset, the 3770K wasn't going to be worth overclocking.
Good news guys, I received emails on both the i7 and FX rigs today. They are sold. The Ryzen is staying after all!

I had been trying to sell the other two desktops for a month and knew I could probably sell the Ryzen in a couple days. But my dream rig is going to hang around for a long while.
