    Advice Needed (no POST)

    Hi everyone,

I'm hoping that someone will be able to give me some advice regarding my old system.

I built the system in late 2013, and I replaced it with a new one in 2016. It was all boxed up and put in the garage. Long story short it was stored on the beams of the garage and fell off. PC was working perfectly previously but I now get no output from the motherboard VGA/HDMI whatsoever, or any graphics card outputs. System powers on fine, fans spin up and it sounds like it's working but there is no screen output whatsoever.

    Any ideas?

try reseating memory modules - slightly unseated memory can stop output - look for any odd error codes on the motherboard (if your board has that feature) disconnect all cards and reseat one at a time - if more than one memory module - try one at a time

My board was down for a time until I discovered one module of 2 got damaged or became defective.

Could well be loose connections, but.......if it fell from the rafters and crashed on the floor.....could be the MB is cracked. Not much of a cure for that.

    Thanks for the replies both,

I have tried reseating each of the 4x8GB DIMMs, to no avail, trying each in separately. I would imagine if the motherboard was cracked the system would not power?

Not necessarily. Hairline crack in the CB somewhere (like connection from GPU to plug) would not prevent it from power up.

Well considering the case was too smashed to be properly utilised I would imagine that the force of the drop will have caused some damage..

I'll keep trying various things and let you know what happens.

when you power on the pc,
Check whether the key board lights( Num,cap, scroll locks) are lighting up or not. If it not lighting then the problem is with your motherboard.

If the keyboard lights are not lighting up then it is clear that the power is not supplying to the output ports.
check the processor pins there are chances that it might bend or short. If it so, separate the pins with needle(very carefully and very gently) and power on the pc.

Sorry for my bad english. check it once it might work if it not works then leave a comment.

Have a good time. Bye for now.

I noticed on the Forum list this post has been marked as Solved [green checkmark on it], if that is not correct you might want to change it.
