    MSI Afterburner 4.6.1 beta 1

    RTSS 6.7.0 beta 1 | Page 95 | guru3D Forums

    · Added asynchronous dual fan control support for reference design NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20x0 series graphics cards. Please take a note that only 100% NVIDIA reference design dual fan control implementations are supported, third party proprietary asynchronous fan control solutions (e.g. EVGA iCX series asynchronous fans) are not supported and will not be supported in future versions. The following asynchronous fan control functionality is available:
o Added new “Synchronize fan speeds” button, which is allowing you to switch between synchronous and asynchronours fan control modes. Please take a note that new fan speed controls are available in v4 skins only, v3 and v2 skins are deprecated and no longer receive new functionality
o When fan speeds synchronization is enabled, MSI Afterburner’s fan control functionality behaves exactly like in the previous version, i.e. both fans are running asynchronically in default hardware automatic fan speed control mode but become linked synchronically if you enable manual or software automatic fan speed control mode
o When fan speeds synchronization is disabled, you may select and adjust each fan speed independently. For software automatic fan speed control mode independent temperature curves are also adjustable for each fan

    · Improved hardware monitoring module:
o Inverted hotkeys handling approach for multiple selected hardware monitoring graphs. Previously single graph settings mode was active by default, but you could apply some settings (e.g. “Show in On-Screen Display”) to multiple selected graphs with <Ctrl> hotkey modifier. Now such settings are applied to multiple selected graphs by default and <Ctrl> hotkey modifier is used to apply settings to single focused graph
o Group operation notifier has been moved to hardware monitoring graph properties header
o Improved backward compatibility with monitoring profiles created in the previous versions of application. It is no longer necessary to recreate the profiles having monitoring settings without On-Screen Display layout

    · Fixed issue with GUI stopping responding during adjusting skin scaling ratio on the fly in high DPI mode when skin composition mode was set to layered mode with alpha

    · RivaTuner Statistics Server has been upgraded to v7.2.2

So MSI does not make any graphic cards that have 3 fans?? Never understood why their software never supported 3 fans.

I've a 3 fans card and MSI AF only shows me one Fan settings slider. When I adjust it, all the 3 fans sync to the % I set.

Alexey( @Unwinder ) has just posted a new video on YouTube
Keep your eyes half on the keyboard and mouse in the video to see what's being clicked, or do like me, and watch the video a few time.

    - New skin by Drerex
    - Simplified group operations
    - Aysnc fan control for reference design RTX 20x0 series cards

BTW, I'm not sure if you know that, but Chris aka Drerex also created A LOT of nice skins for legacy EVGA Precision X (for versions up to 4.2.1). Those skins became abandoned since the moment when EVGA decided to start developing Precision in-house, however I thought that those skins absolutely must be alive and should not die so we introduced skin cross-compatibility layer in MSI AB. So any of his past creations (or any other legacy EPX skins created by different community members) are still usable with MSI Afterburner. You can find archive of the previous skins created by Drerex here:

Update from Unwinder regarding Drerex's older XOC skins:
Guys, couple posts ago I mentioned that MSI AB’s skin cross-compatibility layer supports absolutely all legacy EVGA Precision skins from the past, so those who admire Drerex work and feel nostalgic can also use the skins he created before.

During the first year of in-house EVGA Precision development I also provided cross-compatibility with native X15 and X16 skins (internally they were still using my own USF skin format with a bit of simple obfuscation so it was very easy to support it). However I stopped investing time in it after seeing that community do not feel too much enthusiasm to design anything for it. So at some stage X16 skins became incompatible with AB, XOC skins were never supported by cross-compatibility layer too. Drerex was probably the only person who tried to create a few custom skins for it, for example nice Fallout 4 themed skin:

    https://www.facebook.com/drerexdesig...type=3&theater

However, X16 is now abandoned by EVGA, the same applies to XOC. So I decided to pay tribute to the past work done by Chris, I absolutely don’t want to see any of his skins overboard. So yesterday I invested some time and pumped up MSI AB skin cross-compatibility layer to support the latest skin versions of X16 and XOC. So with the next beta of 4.6.1 you’ll be able to use that X16 Fallout 4 skin by Chris too. Or alternately use any other X16/XOC skins, if you want to make MS AB look like X16 or XOC due to some weird reason.
Now that was really nice of Unwinder wasn't it?
I mean, we get more skin choices, and the best AB skin creator's work can still be used

    Another new video from Unwinder:

This video demonstrates many advanced voltage/frequency curve editing tricks, most of them exist in the latest public 4.6.0 release, but some of them (e.g. fragment selection and operation) are new for 4.6.1. Pay attention to keyboard input indicator in bottom left corner to see all keyboard shortcuts I’m using. The following tricks are being shown:

    - Undo/redo buffer usage
    - Typing in frequency offset from keyboard
    - Typing in absolute frequency from keyboard and automatically calculating the offset
    - Moving edited curve up/down
    - Setting left/right anchor and interpolating the curve
    - Setting fixed offset for all points
    - Selecting a fragment and adjusting offset for all points inside the selection
    - Finetuning offsets for points inside the selection with keyboard cursor keys
    - Jumping to closest frequency rounded to 10MHz with keyboard cursor keys
    - Typing in selection offset from keyboard
    - Typing in selection absolute frequency from keyboard and automatically calculating independent offsets for each point within the selection
    - Tabbing forward/back between the points
    - Using fragment selection and keyboard input to define frequency plato and limit GPU performance/power consumption
    - Using voltage lock marker to limit GPU performance/power consumption
