Need 5 Year Warranty External Hard Drive suggestion please

anyone got a reco on a current External Hard Drive with 5 year warranty?
Or am I going to have to build one?

Why do you need a 5 year warranty?

My latest WDC 4TB My Book external USB 3.0 drive came with a 3-year warranty. Of interest, it is formatted as exFAT, usable on more than Windows such as many versions of Linux and macOS Sierra [and older Mac OS X].

I think OP needs to start with more basic questions like capacity, ports required, whether HDD or SSD and then have a look.

Obviously a warranty doesn't protect your data (backups do) and I've never picked a drive based on warranty but certainly 5 years exists and from a cursory look isn't that uncommon.

HP offers 3 year warranty on its business drives.

There's a number of NAS drive containers available where one can build as desired, hold anywhere from 1 HDD to 4 and more HDDs of most any size, use brands of drives as desired.

My NAS drives are single WDC My Cloud 2TB HDDs connected via Ethernet cable to my Router, can be accessed by any number of computers [Wired and Wireless] simply by activating file sharing in each computer and Mapping one of the drives or maybe just a Folder as desired on a drive.

appreciate the help. some of the other respondents answered the tangential questions I didn't ask - thx for that. obviously there are a number of HDD and SSHD and SSD's that do include 5 year warranty, and I'm aware of the enclosures that let me roll my own. I was trying to avoid having to order two parts but it may be the better route in the end. this is going into service for someone else who is not technically inclined and I wanted to just hand it off with one receipt for her to keep so if there is a fail we have what we need.
