Hi @worf105, another vote for the newer corsair PSU's. If you go that way, read the specs on the 2 different RM gold series. One uses 100% Japanese transistors, the other not.
A SWAG on your problem, since we have very similar builds except I have a regular vid card.
I sometimes get BSOD's with same symptoms your having when fooling around with overclock formulas. It always turns out to be low voltage.(one of my prime OC prerequisites is keeping overvolting to a minimum because of NO $ for letting the smoke out of any hardware LOL) This happened with my old Corsair PSU which was also a Corsair 850. I replaced it with the new one in my sig and that quirky problem still exists if I push CPU or VID too far on too little voltage. You might try raising voltage just a teany tiny nudge and see if problem goes away.

Ps: The PSU in my sig is the model with the 100% Japanese transistors but does not have the "control with Corsair Link software" because Corsair Link is too flaky to burden with more work. The 11 year old TX 850 PSU still works 100%. I just wanted full modular (no room for cables in economy case.
Cheers Slippery for you insights, will investigate further.

I have used Corsair, Seasonic, and Evga. Get one that has the best sale price, and will meet your future needs.

Thanks Doug. Still testing system. All tests are passing with flying colours. Still believe it's the psu while under sustained load dips below for split second causing the problem. Unable to load my system enough while trying to monitor what's going on in real time. Will be buying a new power supply as this is getting on in years anyway.

Have you tried running AIDA or Prime95 and something like looping Heaven or Superposition at the same time?

Done that using different combos using IDT, P95, AIDA64, memtest64, furmark, heaven, superposition, realbench and setting up system copying large file from drive a to drive b and drive b to a to use as much power as I can (drives are spinners) using both monitors to try to keep an eye on my monitoring software.

Even tried to safely load the power outlet to see if the home power is stable.

Andrew, something to help you get the right Recommended Power Supply Wattage for your system: Power Supply Calculator - PSU Calculator | OuterVision
    Real Power Consumption

OuterVision Power Supply Calculator is the most accurate PC power consumption calculator available and is trusted by computer enthusiasts, PC hardware and power supply manufacturers across the Globe. Are you building a modern gaming PC, low power HTPC media server, or maybe you need to figure out power requirements for a rack in a data center? We've got you covered - OuterVision PSU Calculator will help you to select a suitable power supply unit and even Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for your system.
    Video Card Overclock

Basic version of the OuterVision Power Supply Calculator allows users to quickly estimate power consumption with minimal selection of PC parts. On the other hand, our Expert, more advanced version of the PSU Calculator greatly extends the ability to select various PC parts and components, adds CPU and Graphics card overclocking, and allows consumers to calculate PC energy consumption, compare PSU efficiencies, and ultimately project energy cost.
This way you don't get one too weak, or too high(diminishing returns).
