Now going to have a go at the BMWs... .

Crikey, 7:38:40, that got the fans going a bit .

They were at stock clocks but the memory fixed at 2,666MHz. My ASUS mobo has a default '5GHz overclock' setting, might give that a try. I love the smell of fried silicon in the morning .

    Blender update: Download blender.org

    2.79a Corrective Release - RC

This corrective release does not add any new feature. It brings a huge amount of fixes (over 200, from real bugs to potential security issues). And some performance enhancements, mostly in threaded code (e.g. in mesh normal and tangent space computation, in SubSurf modifier, …).It aims at making Blender 2.79 even more robust and reliable while most of the development effort is focused on the next version, Blender 2.8.Given the amount of backported commits, we decided to make a testbuild/'RC' version of 2.79a first. Please take some time to test it and report any issue!

    Note   Note
This RC version seems to be a portable version and not the installer

Makes sense I guess, as it is a release candidate only, as the are working on version 2.8.
