Corsair MP500 m.2 or Samsung 960 Pro M.2 ?

So with so many choices of M.2 super fast ssd the ones I feel are the fastest are:

Cosair MP500 : FORCE SERIES MP500: BLAZING FAST PCIe STORAGE

&

Samsung 960 Pro : Samsung 960 PRO M.2-2280 512GB PCI Express 3.0 x4 NVMe Solid State Drive: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Whats is you opininon of these 2 almost the same, but a bit of a price difference M.2 SSD ?

Or do you consider a different make better or more reliable or is it a waste of time buying them because by next year they will have brought out even faster models of the M.2 ?

I am thinking more in terms of write speed as all the Force MP500 series have 3,000MB/S Read & 2,400 Write speed, I am thinking in terms of the write speed being as close as possible to the read speed for OS only, so to avoid a small as possible bottnecking on the slower write speed as not to lose performance through the system ?

Or does this not matter because with my desktop I am on now i can really notice a slower write speed i.e. Kingston UV400 was alot slower as the write was only 450MB/S, but with my Kingston mSATA I have Read - 550MB/S / Write 520MB/S - you see the speed difference.

I believe I am right in saying that the mSATA is less of a bottleneck ?

So as you can see from the Photo's the Corsair looks like the closes for OS & Samsung Pro 512GB & 2TB for fastest read drive (games storage), but this my thoughts..

So from what you can see it looks like to me we are not really ready for M.2 SSD yet as we don't seem to be matching our Read/Write speeds at the moment ?

Well here is my formula based on my mSATA SSD

So 550MB/S - 520MB/S = 30MB/S X 10 = 300MB/S to bring it up to M.2 MB/S size



I will stick to this theory if no one else will for Operating Sytems on m.2, benchmarks do not prove real time OS just like in games.

So to have a non bottlenecked M.2 the R/W difference should be less than 300MB - still seems quite alot, my 3.0 Motherboard will be were I test this theory.

The theory I am explaining is based on the Samsung Evo SSD as it is recomended as being the fastest 2.5" SSD right ?

The Read = 550MB/s & Write = 520MB/S on the Samsung Evo.

People says it is really compatable unlike other SSD'S, this is because their is only a 30MB/S difference between Read & Write & most other drivers are more than 50 - 100MB/S over the R/W difference from the Samsung Evo.

I am just translating the performance difference in M.2 SSD.

To me the Corsair MP500 would work best because between the 3 different sizes they all have matching R/W speeds but still they are way out from 300MB/S max difference to match a Samsung Evo or a Kingston mSATA & Samsung mSATA.

Can you see what I mean yet ?

About 85% of what you do in an OS is with 4k Read speeds. It is that and response time that make a real difference. Unless you are transferring 20GB files all day, you will never see the big numbers. Even then it is doubtful you will see those numbers because you are limited to the write speed of the drive you are transferring them to, which IMO, is the only time write speeds make very much difference.
